According to the article on passwird.com, no -- the rebates print out when you ring up at a real store--I think they're mail ins too--but $120 in rebates is nice

2Mb is standard -- the 8mb cache drives just started showing up about a year ago.

Let us know if those are in-store rebates, or ones you have to mail in.

According to Tech Bargains they are in store rebates. If that is the case I'm buying about 10 of those babies....

Capt_Obvious, did they say they honor the $120 in store rebates when you checked the stock?

Still in stock for some areas! CircuitCity has the Hard Disk Drive 120GB 7200RPM 8MB cache Hard Drive for only $140. If you order online and pick up in store, the register will print out 3 x $40 rebates, which make the drive for only $20 after rebate.

Enter your zip for availability in local stores near you. Good luck finding one. By tomorrow morning it should be all gone.

N.O. East store has 8 of them right now. Off I-10 Bullard (spelling??) exit. Anyone around that area that could pick up one or two for me? Will drive out to you this weekend with cost of drive(s) + some extra cash..

Guy at local circuit city says that it is not valid...they are on sale for $60 after rebates however.

Wish it had been instant rebates. I just finished offering free upgrades to DVD burners on my standard PCs and would have been nice to offer free (or cheap) upgrades to 120GB drives if they only cost me $20. I pay more than that for the 40GB drives I use now.

Gotta offer lots of freebies to keep up with Dell hehe

a co-worker here is calling a friend of his that lives in Metarie to have him pick up several at the veterans blvd store. If we are able to get him to pick some up, i will have him get several extra (or as many as they let him have)

so Max, the total price is $60 not $20 for these drives?
I saw a deal on that tech bargain site someone mentioned earlier in the post a deal on a maxtor HD for $60 at circuit city. are you sure your friend didn't get the 2 confused?

Nah, it wasn't a friend, just the guy in the store, and it was the HD1200bj or whatever...the cc branded 120gig...even had him ring it up ... no "secret" rebates printed or anything...
