.... Well everyone knows steam updated resently and has u enter your CD key. Well it just so happens that i have LOST my Half-life/CS CDcase and cd all together.... i think it was lent out and never returned but yaknow didint really matter because Cs was pretty much FREE.. Well iv been playing cs for almost 3 years. Never did i have to imput a cd key.. This is total crap!! I have to buy a new damn game all because steam has to be "secure" but i bought the game already its installed on my @(&%!n computer.. and i think this is a bunch of "Bull hocky" because cs if my favorite game and now i get screwed because ppl that dont even play the game that much steal cdkeys n crap.... this sux. I knew steam was gunna do this kh rap

you should be able to find your existing cdkey in your registry

Click on Start >> Run and type:
regedit

Once you are in the registry editor, browse to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\CounterStrike\Set tings

Look to the right under the Name column for Key. You will then see your CS CD Key directly to the right under the column of Data.

just write it down then enter it into steam

where is it stored on 1.6 i think all you have 2 do on 1.6 is after u register that code then from then on all u have 2 do it logon.. no more finding ur key, that is pretty cool..
