Made Bourbon Chili tonight...

Made some chili tonight, using my standard recipie, but in place of my usual half-a-can of beer, I put about a shot and a half of bourbon in...man was it tasy.
Anyone else tried bourbon or whiskey in chili?

I have my grandad's chili recipie and Barbeque sauce recipe, and I'm the only person who knows it, and will know it until I have a kid :-).

If you want to try beer or bourbon, just reduce the water (if your recipe calls for it - depends on style of chili) and enjoy the flavor :-). The alchohol cooks out, so you're just left with the flavor.

I make one heck of a barbeque bourbon chicken breast too :D.

Well poo poo!!!!! It sounds soooo goood. I've been looking for a better chili recipie then what I have now. I mean it's good and all but it just seems that some people's chili is better then mine =( LOL
Thats cool tho that you have a recipie to pass down to kids I think that is wonderful. I'm going to try it with the beer next time I make it!

My cousin has a really good chili recipie that isn't "top secret" so I'll see if I can get it for you...it's actually fairly similar to mine...

Spark, don't try feeding me at the lan either. I eat VERY little, like 5 bites at a meal, and only try to stick to unfried, low-fat, no grease, low-sugar foods.
