I'm getting the same error. Not sure what it is but if another person tells me to delete the client registry.blob again i think I might vomit. So far it has only happened trying to connect to lamerc. Every other server i've tried works fine.

I was getting that error message before and I deleted a file and it fix0red it. I don't remember what file it was tho...

I am here to save you! just log out of steam (dont close it) and then click the option of 'auto login, or remember me whatever' off, so that it wont log you in. The close steam open, u should be prompt to login and do it. volia! it works no? if not my bad, but thats how i fixed when happens to me.

I take that back, most of Steams network is down.. not just authentication

This is a problem when you have a centralized network instead of a distributed one...when your server goes down, MANY people have problems instead of just being re-directed to another server for authentication. I know...this doesn't help blondie at all...just my opinion.

Its not up.. It can't find Steams Auth servers so its pretty much dead in the water for the present time

You know what thought is a little troubling about steam? You know the whole thing is just so they can track players easier and gain more revenue by taking in the monthly fee for new mods and such(starting with HL2). You know at any give time they could release a new version of cs but only allow you to play if you pay a fee. Thats what steam was designed for anyways. They could do anything since they control the servers that authenticate you.

counter-strike was sold to everyone without a monthly fee...if a company were to "change their minds" per say, and add a monthly fee then *cough lawsuit. I <b> really </b> dont think that cs will be monthly any time soon, remember, valve likes having the #1 online mulitplayer game in world. and a smart company would not jeporadize that.

I got so sick of Steam that I started playing some other game to ease the frustration. Well, we're finished with DS and now it looks like I have to go back to CS. CS is like the reliable person you can always go back to when you stray and try something new...yes, I'm a user. :D hahaha

If the bastages hadn't switch the weapons, my buying time would be easier and shorter, and I wouldn't still be in spawn shopping for a friggin gun while the rest of my team is half dead!
