Anything new that I need? What files are needed to play on the lamerc server, cs updates? Im 3-4-5 months out of date. Thanks.

Need to download steam and get cs 1.6 in order to play on the server. There are currently no extra files to download from the server other than the ones that steam installs for you once its setup.

errr. ive got everything, downloaded & installed the full 1.6 update.. got the mappack, let steam work for a while. go to join server. sits there says "updating counterstrike" does nothing.

how long did you let it sit there....alot of times it takes about 5-10-15 min to do whatever it does...also alot of times you have to end the program and let it restart to kick it into gear. You might also want to reboot before you try to play cs...that might help too.

I've noticed that Steam doesn't seem to like firewalls.

I used to ping 20ish to your server. now its 80-200
