Yeah, that first one's a hoax. Pretty easy to see why if you pay careful attention.

1) The area of the blackout is the color of the oceans rather than the color of the sparsely inhabited land elsewhere on the map.

2) Satellites use Universal Mean Time, and if it DID use Eastern, we're on Eastern Daylight Time anyway.

3) The satellite doesn't exist.


Just to explain to those who were scratching their heads.
