Good friend of mine from my former clan, just got a letter in the mail saying he was being sued by the record company for 4000.00 dollars. For sharing and downloading copyrighted music. You know this really sucks.... Yeah, i see both sides of the fact but what are you supposed to do... I admit to being a pretty big music pirate, but seems to me that it is such a waste to go out and buy a whole cd full of 9 crap songs just to get the 1 good song on the cd I want.

There is a list of all of those who have been sued on www.eff.org.

I wish that they would get the real crooks of the internet, the spyware jerks, and the virus punks, but you know even that is screwed up cause most spyware is coming from Peer traders like LIMEWARE, and KAZAA..... What ever is a geek to do........

Thats crazy. I have heard rumors about ppl getting sued but this is the first one that is actually getting sued. I cant beleive that. Do you know what program he used to download music???

ummmm how far are they going back with this? Because last year I racked up on the music. All of it was old stuff though. One hit wonders. Hell I got enough music now to call myself "BSlap Recording Studios"

lol They are only going by what they see NOW! There is some mysterious cut-off point they use when they say "this guy is sharing x number of copyrighted files, so he constitutes a conflict." That's why you should back most of your music out of your shared directories on kazaa or whatever. I persoanlly have 19 GB of music, but I'm only showing like 30 songs in my share directory (I have over 5000).
