What is choke?

I've had a large problem with my choke the past few days.. While playing counterstrike I have my netgraph going in the corner and 4/5 times that I look at it my choke reads 100... This does not please me. While my ping (ms 50 for example) reads a low number, with the choke I have it turns to around 130-150, as well as lowering my frame rate. I tried to research what choke is on the internet but I can't seem to find anything on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

choke is when u grab a merc by the neck ie. bighead and squeeze their neck and then it g0 p0p :) now for the serious answers below this line

But seriously to lose the choke, change your rate to 999999 or so. In console type rate 999999 that should do it

Just chew your food properly and completely before swallowing. That'll fix your choke.

If you are on dialup
--Drop console and type
rate 2500

If you are on broadband
--Drop console and type
rate 25000

Yes.. I changed the rate from 2500 to 25000.... choke went to 0 and so did loss..

Also make sure you have cl_cmdrate set to 101 as well as cl_updaterate set to 101.
