Hey guys.. I think its time for a new car... im actually going for something cheaper then what I have now.. i need payment to be about 300 or less...

Currently Im thinking a Ford Ranger might do it, as I used to have one and it was a great little truck.... now before any comments are made keep in mind my price range... 15 - 18....

I need ideas of what else I might want, I would like either a small truck or a coupe of some kind... ive been wanting something fast lately LOL but im just concerend with money more than anything else...

I also was thinking about a mini cooper, but id have to drive 2 hrs away to get one and i dont know if I can get one in my price range,

also my third and final thoughts was a Jetta.. I LOVE THOSE CARS!!! but again would have to drive and am not sure about price...

so anyway im completely open to suggestions... i need help BAD!!!! just keep price range in mind and keep the forum legit PLEASE.. thanks guys!!

one last thing.. went to Ford today and they have a 15000 ranger (2003) edge thats pretty sweet but they will only give me 6500 for my 97 V8 all wheel drive ford explorer.... which i think is worth 10000... i owe 8500 on it now and so im thinking MAYBE i can get them to take all of it.. but please let me know if you think this is a good deal or not, or what you think i should end up paying if i went this route!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

You could always go with the Hyundia Sonata. For one pretty decked out they go for aroun 17,000. Granted, it is a 4 door. In the 2 door models there is the Tiburon which is a nice looking vehicle. They go for around 18,500 MSRP. Here is the links to the 2 vehicles.

I'm on my second Dodge dakota i love dodge trucks if i was you i'd go that way it's a nice lil truck. I first had a 96 dakota when i first turned 16 and then i got my job and now i'm 19 and have a 02 dakota SLT Power everything i dont even have to move my darn hand to change the radio stations. But my 96 had nothing wrong w/ it and my dad owned it b4 i did and we never had a problem w/ anything in it at all. but i just wanted a brand new truck to sport around i'd go Dodge

Get a Jetta, nothing beats German engineering.

Pick whatever you like, for the most part all major car companys are having great deals like 0% finacing and or a few thousand dollars off. One thing I would tell you is to wait until the end of the month before you buy anything. The salesman are usually trying to meet a quota and typically give better tradein values at the end of the month. I get a discount on Chrysler and Mercedes, but I know 2 coworkers who bought trucks last month and got over $8,000 off the sticker price of Dodge Rams. The point is wait to tradein until the end of the month and check around for the best discounts you can get.

The TDI Jetta gets incredible gas mileage --- Turbodiesels rule. And I agree, german engineering rules -- and I'm not exaggerating, they are built to some of the tightest tolerances found on the road today.

Go GMC, or Chevrolet man, i drive a 1995 GMC Sierra w/ around 300,000 miles, and its still goin strong. I strongly recommend a gmc sierra, or chevrolet siverado.

MAximus - Didn't chevy replave the s-10 with the colorado in '03?
