well b4 i would get a barrel i'd get a bigger CO2 tank cause if you plan on playing alot you better get a 20 oz tank so you can have your 12 oz and 20 oz to play all day if you wanted to

If play in cold weather I would advise getting a 68ci NO2 tank, it won't freeze like CO2.
But wait to see if you are going to be playing that much.

To be honest, I would hold out on spending 20 to 30 bucks for a barrel. If you pool your money, you can get a much better barrel, and be better off in the long run.

I had a Spider for 3 years, had to upgrade when I started entering more and more tournaments. I had on my spider a 32 degrees Carbon Fiber barrel. I never had a problem with that barrel, and even if I did break paint, one swabbing and three to four shots later I had about 80 to 90 percent accuracy back.

Also, I have heard alot of good things about Custom Product barrels. I have not personally used them on a Spider, but I had an 18 inch barrel for my Defiant. I had good results with that barrel also.

The J & J and SmartParts barrels are also some good barrels to look at.

There is one type I would sway away from, I can't remember the brand, but it is the one with the internal rifleing. On certain types of paint it may work wonders, but if you want a good all around barrel, you need one that shoots lots of different types of paints, and that isn't one.

Also, Korrupted is right about the compressed air tank, if you are going to be playing alot, and some of that is in cold weather, Nitrogen or compressed air, depending on who fills it, would be the best way to go. I made the switch just 7 months after starting to play, and never regretted it. But I would hold off first to make sure that this is a hobby that you want to invest that much money in, because it can get very expensive.

Hope this helps some.

David Youngblood makes some nice barrels (DYE).
I use to know this guy in NYC who made custom barrels, but I think he went out of business.
