I have a buddy in Dallas that works for AT&T wireless designing their GSM and 3G Cellular tranmission networks -- Their GSM Phone and data transmission systems are very soon going to be released in a new upgraded format called Edge Technology. It's going to allow data transfer over wireless devices at speeds up to 128 Kbps -- almost broadband.

Looking at the Edge 128 at the top left, that's what it is referring to. He was in town last weekend and showed me the demo model nokia Phone he was using and testing, pretty cool stuff.

Nooooo, I hate the word GSM, I have had to designed a new DS1's to every Cingular cell tower for their GSM Project upgrade. I have handled well over 60 circuits for them in the past month.
