I'm having a weird problem where my ping will go from 70 to like 400 and back down all the time - an it's not like 70 400 70 it's like it counts up to 400 and then back down. I'm not losing pakets or choking...and my rate is set to 20000...any other suggestions?

are you on cox cable? if so, disconnect the service and try to get dsl. I'm on cox and my ping goes from 60 - 250 and I'm pretty close to the server. when I lived in an apt I had dsl and pinged average 40 to servers in TX. and the connection was stable.

anyway, enough of that rant, what kind of connection system specs etc. are you dealing with?

A new wrench in the whole problem, Maverick, when connected to the same router doesn't have the ping issue, and mine is the faster machine, he's running a 1600 w/ 512 ram...

HELP!!!

I just might do that - I start a new job in the morning - even though it's through a temp agency, the pay is excellent, so when i get the $$$ for the modem saved up I might just do that...I'm sick of RR they have P'ed me off for the last time!
