Lt. - is it hard to get use to the double screen? Most of the programmers here use the double screen, I'm just not use to it. I'm still using the single but just curious.

Its not hard to get use to, this is why. You can set it up to do what is called dual view or span. The pic I posted above of my desktop is called span, where the computer thinks that both monitors are one so the rez instead of being 1024 X 768, it is 2024 X 768. Or you can do dual view where your computer just thinks there are two monitors, this is a much more stable view mode. On both modes you can still drag things from one screen to the next, or have icons on one screen and not the other, but on span you can drag them half way across the screen there is no middle point.

Here is a pic of dual view. As you can see Steam is open on screen 1, but the friend and game boxes are open on monitor 2 :)

mine came with windows me too, quickly changed to xp pro, haha. the side panel is the one that came with the computer, i cut the logo out, put in the window and added the lights. i didnt change the power supply.

i ended up giving it to my parents. its a 1.7 with 640 rdram, 128 geforce 4 ti 4600. i stuck with dell and now have an xps 3.4 with 2 gb ram 256 radeon 850xt pe.

This is my new setup, well actually, you cant really see it beacause of the crappy camera. Its time to get a new one :P. No, its an LCD screen. Its got a HIGH resolution on it. I love the thing, NEVER going back to small screens again :P. The other thing i love about it is that its big, but its really slim, so i can put it on my desk ,but i still have alot of room left, alot more than a CRT screen.

that resolution means it is a tv, to answer the question they asked, it is not a monitor with that resolution.

No, its not just one. Its both, im running television on one half, and im playing WOW on the other half. It has PIP, ones running with VGA at 1360x730 and the TV part is running on whatever the hell it feels like running on. So, it's not just one type of screen, Its a Multi-Sexy screen. On and BF2 looks delicious on it. =]

a tower is still the way to go, the portable "lan" computers are gaining in popularity, but the mid tower case is still the popular choice. Falcon computers made this popular with their "fragbox".
and all the other gaming computer makers are following suit.

It really depends on what you want. I have had Small Form Factor cases, Mid Towers, and Full size Tower cases. How much room do you have? What do you want to put in it?

I have seen a couple of mods where people took the same case as mine and setup a liquid cooled system all internal. Granted there is hardly no room left in the box but hey it looks cool.

Yes I can now rejoin my brothers in BF2 again. Benefits of say a full or mid size case could be more internal space, SLI configuration, more add-ons... Of course I am running an Intel chipset but most of the Boy's and Girl's around here run AMD's. I would have liked to have a SLI setup but it was something that just didn't fit in my budget. From what I have seen so far I am pleased with my new pc except for the 420 Watt PSU that came with the case that needed to be replaced with a higher wattage PSU. I still need to take some pictures of it lit up at night. Lighting the case was relatively cheap and accomplished with nice results. I may pick up another 4" UV cold Cathode light for it later but for right now it is okay. I also have a little bit more cable management to do to make it look really clean on the inside.

Compared to my older computer I have, this case is half the size and weight so in my eyes it is more portable than the other. The only thing that really sucks is that the "spare desk" I have to use is really small.

Dirge, I actually did think about putting casters on it or build some sort of wheeled cart to sit it on. I could probably attach it to say a luggage cart..... Put some heavy duty casters on it, reinforce the case, attach a seat to the top and Whola! we could have a Micro ATX Cart Race at the next LAN!!!!!

Right now Im working on my home theater system. I bought a 32" Samsung LCD a couple months back and just last week I got the HDDVD add on for the 360. The hddvd picture is absolutely amazing.

Just in case anyone would like to know, the HDDVD drive uses a standard USB cable to plug into the back of the 360 and apparently, it plugs into the back of a computer and needs no drivers to be used as an HDDVD player for any computer that can support HD picture output.

My vendor is not getting any of the 2 GB5870 Eyefinity 6 cards in again. :(

Yea, if your like me your just use to it. I thought my new machine was quite compared to my old box... The one above your post. But it turned out my old box was so noisy that any improvement was quiet compared to what I had. I use to run a AMD socket A overclocked with a thermaltake cooler running wide open to keep it cool. It sounded like a little turbine running on the floor.

That's got to be the fastest machine around (that I know of). Not only do you have a Velociraptor, but it's the slower of your two drives. Of course the Trio of GTX470s top it off. I'll bet the heat is pretty significant because when my 9800GT is going full speed, I can feel it. Don't even want think about your rig. You must a half ton AC unit just for that room.

its not all that, but it does let me run Battlefield on all the highest graphics settings!

It is quite the little heater, that small room has one air vent in the ceiling, and the room is cold if the door is closed and the pc is off, but after about an hour of BF:BC2, it is plain 'ol hot in there....Wife makes me put it in sleep mode when I am not using it!:violin
