Steam is having a sale on BC2 that lasts until the noon tomorrow. If anyone is thinking about getting it now would be a good time.

I had fun playing last night and my machine doesn't hiccup once. Even when getting shot at, stabbed, rpg'd, and ran over by a tank at the same time.
:D

Big Bummer men. I built a new comp and swapped over the video card. Now it is crashing. Better mobo, better RAM, better Proc, same video card (GTX 285), Win7 x64.

I am bummed. Will look at it when I get a chance. Maybe this weekend.

Is the patch out? Have they fixed the knife?? Where in the hell is Onji, Tugboats and the rest of the crew? I fragged a bit last night with Baco and Fragfood.

I need a new map!! Onji got any news??

By they way, I think my Dog-tags are Gold!

Rook - What's showing up in your event log when the 'puter crashes? That might give some idea of what's wrong. Any other symptoms? Does it crash if it just sitting in the BIOS? Idle at the Windows desktop? Only when gaming?

I have the same card and have issues with the kernels stopped working. It started with a driver update from NVIDIA. Only does it in game for me.

I wonder if going to the beta build of the driver would make a difference. Might be worth trying. You would think that Nvidia would be aware of the issue by now and perhaps has a fix in the pipeline.

Rook and shadow try this:

In your documents folder, you will find a folder called BFBC2 .

Inside that you find "settings" .

Inside the "settings" file you will see this ...

[WindowSettings]
Width=1680
Height=1050
Fullscreen=true
RefreshRate=59.882999
VSync=true
[Sound]
Quality=medium
VoipEnable=true
SpeakerCount=0
[Graphics]
Effects=low
Soldiers=low
Vehicles=low
Overgrowth=low
Undergrowth=low
StaticObjects=low
Terrain=low
Shadows=low
Bloom=false
HSAO=false
MSAA=0
Water=low
MainQuality=custom
Texture=low
DxVersion=auto
Aniso=1
Detail=low
RenderAheadLimit=2
Fov=55

change only the following lines in red:

[WindowSettings]
Width=1680
Height=1050
Fullscreen=true
RefreshRate=59.882999
VSync=true
[Sound]
Quality=medium
VoipEnable=true
SpeakerCount=2
[Graphics]
Effects=low
Soldiers=low
Vehicles=low
Overgrowth=low
Undergrowth=low
StaticObjects=low
Terrain=low

Bloom=false
HSAO=false
MSAA=0
Water=low
MainQuality=custom
Texture=low
