If you saw my post on my "new rig" thread, you'd know that I left Prime95 running last night to test out stability on an overclock and it freaked my UPS out during the night...
I can't remember what wattage the UPS is rated for, but I know it was a "900AVR" what ever that means...

What I'm wondering (been on my mind all day) is if I can switch my PC from the "battery backup side" of the UPS to the "surge only" side until I can get a bigger, badder UPS and not have that problem?

Also, can anyone reccomend a UPS that would handle the load?

Anyone know?

I really hate to give up 535MHz of performance...

I don't know how switching sides would solve the problem. As far as UPS goes I have had pretty solid luck with APC.. Use them both at home and in the office.

Oh well - I guess I'll just run @ stock speeds for now - I've *never* had good luck w/ Overclocking...

Did it sketch out the software that came with the UPS?

All I sell is APC and I have had great luck with them.

Nah - it woke me up in the middle of the night screaming bloody murder - and shut my PC down...

I've never installed the software...

I've got 4 rack mounted APC's and about 70 regular ones. When they start to die, they start squealing like a pig with a purdy mouf.

Fine the next day?

How old? Does it beep a lot?

Well, I picked up a decent quality surge protector on the way home, and I seem to be ok running off of it - back to 3.53GHz! w00t!
