If this one hits anywhere near here, think I may go northward. Generator is having issues, its gradually producing less and less power, it won't even hold a fridge online now. Anyone have any idea what is going wrong here? I have like 3 generators with this issue, there were fresh out of the box when i got them, but they had sat up for like 3 years.

I'm not real big in these things, but if they don't run very often, maybe some corrosion or build up on the armature and stator... or buildup on the brushes?

Keep going West! Being in the bullseye this far out and getting hit again? The percentages are low! gogogo statistics!

Cuban is gonna get WTFOwned. Cat 4 at landfall = expensive cigars.

Hope it takes a giant turd on Cuba and falls apart before it gets North. I know that's not gonna happen but it sounds good.

Did you change the oil after the first 8 hours of use?

Actually, it could be a rectifier problem. I've heard a lot of that same issue. You'll have to get a generator tech to look at it. It should be an easy part to replace.

OMGHi2U! More hurricanes??? Hopefully they will either slam into that big sand bar to the south of texas or into texas itself. Its actually about time the texas coast got hit instead of LOI/MI

And you peeps over in canjun town are always welcome to come over to Texas and stay a night with me.

Yeah, I'd check the brushes on the generator part as well. Engine still running at "normal" RPMs?

Yea, engine still runs fine, the only time i've heard it go into a bind is when i attempted to power my house Ac on it. Going tomorrow to have it worked on.

A 5000 watt generator should power a 3 ton central unit but I wouldn't think you could put anything else on it. A 6000 watt generator should power a 3 ton unit and a few appliances.

Maybe it will hit Mexico.. Though it does look like Texas might be the target.. We'll just have to wait and see.

I really thought BR wasn't going to have a lot of problems with Gustav, but it was a little stronger than I thought it would be at that point. My companies main office is in Houston, so if it goes there then I'll be headed over to help with the lockdown.

Cuba got hammered! I don't support the government of Cuba in any way, but the people have suffered enough under Castro. I sure hope that they were able to find some shelter from Ike.

Well...my camping trip has just been cancelled and they are calling for some manditory evacuations south of Houston....sigh...looks like this one should come right over our heads in Houson if the storm takes the jog east when it gets to land.

WB, where are you living?
