Recently RR Turbo went from 8mb/s to 10mb/s - now the last few days, I've been noticing downloads a little faster, so I ran a test...

w00t! Hope it stays :-)

Diesel would know better, but there is a new architecture rolling out 1Q09, we don;t have any details yet.

Roadrunner has upgraded the standard connection to 7mb down. The Turbo connections went up to 10mb down. And for select areas, they are introducing a super turbo connection and testing 17-18mb down and 512mb up.

Hmmm - that sounds like what I'm getting (still getting it BTW). It probably won't stay, but I'll sure enjoy it while it lasts :-)

Well, it really does come in handy when combined w/ VOIP - we have RR's Digital Phone, and I use Skype quite extensively for GNOME meetings. Usually in the evenings I keep a RDP and VPN session up to my PC at work from within a Virtual Machine here - and when I'm at work I'm often SSH'd into my box here. Also, I'm usually always streaming music, and since I do run Linux on all my machines here, so it's great for keeping up w/ updates and/or installing software.

In short, you never have to worry about running out of bandwidth. I just wish my upload pipe was a little larger - I'd be really happy w/ a 1mbps upload.

Could I do it w/ 6mbps? Sure - would I rather have 10+ absolutely! Heck I was stuck for a year on 768k DSL out in the boondocks...maybe that's why I soak it up so much now :D
