Ok...so a while back I bought an old-style Thomas radio (looked kinda like the St Louis arch, or the old "camel back style" radio) that was a modern remake...didn't want to actually ruin an old radio, you see. Anyway, I bought this thing at a garage sale or something like that for $5 for the strict purpose of making a computer out of it.

My goal was to find a bunch of mini parts and use them...and to try and incorporate some "newness" into the design or body...so that you could clearly tell it wasn't what it was.

I gutted the thing and then purchased a couple Bulgin light switched from FrozenCPU. After waiting for a couple weeks for the messed up order to be fixed, I installed the switches...and finally completed the computer last night:

The motherboard I used was the ePia M10000...a little older than I would have liked, but it was cheap (DVD used for size comparison)

Got it all hooked up in the front room. It's presently hooked up to my receiver and can get on the internet etc. Copied all of my music over to it (60GB...thanks rook!) last night and listened to music this morning:

Now, there are several cosmetic things I want to do...there are still 2 holes in the front and the place where the tuner display needs to have something done to it...but all-in-all...I think it's looking good so far.

Downsized 110Gb to 60Gb and it only took a week to go through it all. I have another 34Gb at work. I will bring it home tonight or tomorrow. I also need to borrow back your external so I can off-load the music to my comp. I would like to sort it all eventually into genre and set up the FTP box.

How did the switches wire up? As we thought or not? I like those switches...a lot. This summer we need to find 2 more mod projects. Garage selling we a go!

Good job man.

Thats the direction i have been going with the FTP I have running..

Rook, if you get yours et up, I would love to download some of your music you have been through... That will save me some time trying to sort out the crap from the good.

Yellow...I seriously spent about 10 hours going through 100+GB of music to get it pared down to 60...LOTS of work. Finally have it all by genre (50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, Metal, Classical, Country, Techno) and then sub-ordered by artist (which was already done...thank goodness).
