Picked this story up off a site about retail clerk's experiences with stupid or annoying customers:
"They Might Be Giants released a kid's album called Here Comes The ABCs that we played at my Toy Store all the time. One song called "The Alphabet of Nations" reads off the alphabet as countries ("Algeria, Bulgaria, Cambodia") and when it gets to w and x they say "West Xylophone".
A customer was listening to this song and asked, "Why do they say 'West Xylophone?"
I said, "Because there aren't any countries that begin with W or X." I- being a trivia nerd I am- had already looked up this fact for my own curiosity.
The customer said, as if we're morons for not knowing, "Uh, what about Sweden?"
My co-workers and I just looked at each other, discretion held our tongues but her boyfriend said what we couldn't, "Do you know how fuc*in' stupid that sounded?"
