No, I'm not preaching, but sharing something that is helping me in through the day while at work..
In my time away, I have spent a lot of time with my wife and daughter. My wife is Mexican, as some of you may know, a lot of Mexicans are hard core Catholics. My wife is one. I was baptized Catholic but growing up, it wasn't really a "Hard core" thing in the house. Since my wife has the stronger religious side, I have supported raising our daughter in a Catholic tradition.
Well, this Sunday one of the readings struck a cord and I thought you all would like it.
Reading II
2 Thes 3:7-12 (http://www.usccb.org/nab/111807.shtml)
Brothers and sisters:
You know how one must imitate us.
For we did not act in a disorderly way among you,
nor did we eat food received free from anyone.
On the contrary, in toil and drudgery, night and day
we worked, so as not to burden any of you.
Not that we do not have the right.
Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you,
so that you might imitate us.
In fact, when we were with you,
we instructed you that if anyone was unwilling to work,
neither should that one eat.
We hear that some are conducting themselves among you in a
disorderly way,
by not keeping busy but minding the business of others.
Such people we instruct and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly
and to eat their own food.
Funny, seems even back then the big guy was having moral issues.
Oh, did I mention this would turn into a venting session?
Never mind, I wont get into it, just enjoy the passage...:heart3
