We got ours in earlier than 1979, but this is start of my gaming obsession:

Yea, we weren't Rockefellars either. I guess since there were six of us kids and this gift covered about half of us, it was do able. Come to think of it, that's probably why the pages on the Wishbook were so worn out. We spent so much time "wishing". I think it probably a disadvantage for my kids that the situation is so different. But that's a different discussion.

I bet, if you take inflation into account, that $154 atari back then is probably about what it's like to shell out $400 for an xbox 360. I miss those awesome graphics and mind numbing repetitive games.

I remember my sister got a glow worm around that time...and then we got the all black Atari 2600...man, what a machine!

We had pong on the TV set, that was IT!!!! HO cars and train sets were the rage:) So was rock'em sock'em robots, but my parents thought it was too violent, so I couldn't get it:(

I couldn't go see the Blob or Aliens for the same reason, how funny is that, COMPARED TO NOW!!!!

yeah and look at you now Rollout....You got a hot little blonde hoe dancing in a short skirt.....playing one of the coolest most violent war games Ive ever seen and you pound beers like Wetz does his meat.....

Conda and I were looking up the old atari games the other day at work...Damn that brought back memories. I would guess I wasted more of my childhood in front of the tv playing the old 2600 than I want to admit...Out standing graphics on those old games...They dont make them like they use to.
