I just got done putting in the new yard. It was done in 24 hrs with the help of LaTech and my bro-in-law. I think it turned out okay, and will be loading before and after pics soon.

Thanks Tech for the help. I would not have been able to get it done without it. Also the tree looks "saw"eet! Great job. Get your arse over for grilled steaks, corn, and beers boy! 6:30 pm sharp.

It is great having room to play now. The renters before us treated the yard very poorly. The tree next to the garage is a lot better groomed also. We are going to put up a privacy fence along the rear, and possibly down the right side. We shall see. We will replace the old privacy fence prolly next year. This house has been a fun list of projects so far. Again, I could not get as much done without friends. Thanks LaTech, and you are now famous with the first "after" shot.

Hey that looks great! You know the down side though... you have to mow it now :stick. I'll bet all of the neighbors will be jealous.

The stories of how long and hard and years of dedication to get it to come in that thick will ensue. :stick I do not mind mowing the lawn. Our growing season here is like 4 months. I like the fact that the little guy has a place to play now. I just cannot wait for the privacy fence now.

Good Job!! Rook and Tech...

Thanks for photo-shopping the A$$-crack out of #279.. saved us all a little pain!! :stick

BTW the picture of your American Eskimo, brought back wonderful memories of our dog Trigger. I loved that dog and so did Marietta and Reagan, we miss him every day...

Sheetrock? WTF, do I look like a Meth head? Anyways, I do stucco and I bartend. In other words I try to avoid doing anything really. My wife makes sure I fail at that though.

If it is a major problem, I would put a "bed" around the tree. That way you can use shade loving plants to "spruce" up the area. I guess you could go to a local nursery and ask for the best shady grass seed they have and give it a try.

Anything will grown when its amped up on Steroids... FOR A LITTLE WHILE... but then it dies,, the only real grass... is Grass that takes time to establish itself in the area you need it to grow...

We have a place here call Southern States farm supply, I always go there for my yard questions. what you need to do is go talk to a landscaper or someone in that business and tell them what kind of area your dealing with, and based on the climate... they should be able to recommend a grass, or Ivy that will strive in those conditions.

Centipede grass is what works the best for my yard... its taken me 4 years to get a large part of 3 acres covered... but its growing strong..."I also used a chemical called VANTAGE to kill off all other grasses like Bermuda" to keep it from competing with the Centipede.

I saw that commercial. It looks like it will grow grass on just about anything. It comes in a green roll of mesh looking material. All it needs is water and some sun and you get grass in a day.

Think of it like a chia-pet rug. LOL.
