American Design. Can I get a Hurah! And The Eagle still holds all the climb to time records. That and 50 cents gets you a cup of cofee but hey, the old bird is still bass ass.

PS, Did you know that the F15 is still the only fighter to still have a positive thrust to weight ratio. That means its the only fighter ever built that can actually accelerate going straight up. Again, that and another 50 cents still only gets you another cup of cofee but, still bad arse.

Until the Raptor and the evolution of stealth she was the dominant fighter in the sky. Still one of the best. To date the only jet that comes close is the mig 29 (and all though about evenly matched, the only record of F15 vs Mig 29 combat was held over the skies of IRAQ where the F15 shot down all 5 mig 29's the IRAQ airforce had without a single bullet or missle ever hitting an F15. GEAX USA!

Plus, lets not forget one of our other super jets. The F18 Hornet. I live 40 minutes away from Pensacola so I see the Blue Angels all the time. Sights like these still make the hair on the back of my neck stand up. If you never seen an air show, you must. They are awesome. Here's the high speed pass at better than Mach 1. Seeing the Angels fly at home in Pensacola is one of the coolest things you'll ever see. Also, they do speacial maneuvers at sea and only if you have a boat and go watch will you see things like them breaking the sound barrier and flying high speeds just several hundred of feet off the water so it leaves a wake in the water. Truely an amazing sight.

And here she is in all her glory. 100,000,000 dollars in cost and the last maned jet fighter to dominate the sky. The Raptor is capable of so much more but the limiting factor with her thrust vectoring is the human body. Mark my words. From here on out robotic radio controlled fighters will rule the sky. Designers have maxed out everything BUT the human body. The planes now a days are handicapped by the pilot. Ass dominant as teh raptor is she's the last of a dieing breed. She's still one mean ass bird. GEAUX USA!

Sent this to a friend of mine who is being trained by the AF to fly these bad boys...his response
We studied that in class. Boeing engineers did some calculating that (obviously) enough thrust and the surface area that remained was sufficient to sustain some lift. Its one hell of a machine. 8 rides left then its off to Langley AFB Virginia.

BTW, 550 knots at 500 feet is unlike no other speed rush in the world!!! The trees go by FAST!

I've seen the Blue Angels...they have an impressive show. My cousin was actually one of the maintenance techs who traveled with the squad for about 2 years. Talk about a sweet job.

If you haven't seen the show and get a chance, I highly recommend.

geez oh pete's and we are surprised? lol The -15 was an afterthought to the competition and it still r0x0rs. The Super Hornet 9as Andy mentioned) is the baddest mofo in production (well until the raptor goes full). Capitalism wins every time it's tried, just like conservatism. w00t USA
