Proud to say I've never owned any of them...worked on plenty of PB's and PS1's and definitely eMachines...but never owned them

I'm reading through the 25 worst tech products of all time article now, and the only thing i've disagreed w/ so far is the choice of the Zip Drive as the #15 worst tech item of all time - I loved my Zip drive, and I used it more than I burnt CD's actually...

Still have all my Zip disks, and an External Parallel Zip drive :)

I think it was the click of death that they were more upset with (understandably so if you ever had one click, you know the feeling!). Read through them and agree with most of them. AOL as #1 though...harsh!

And it just goes to show how there can be good and bad apples...

While I have worked on MANY bad eMachines, I had a 466is (Celly 466, originally 32mb ram), my mom had a system (dont know the model number) w/ a 1100 Celly, and my last pc before this gateway was an emachine w/ a 2400 athlon xp, and my mom is still using THAT machine now - all 3 rock solid (my cousin suzette wore that 466 out, and my aunt and uncle still browse w/ that 1100 celly)...

Emachines DID get better after Gateway bought them out - all the ones in the Black/Silver cases on up were actually pretty decent machines for the money...I sold many "budget" gaming machines at best buy by starting w/ a black and silver emachines w/ an athlon and adding a vid card, and some ram.

the eMachines that I remember were the ones with those horribly tiny power supplies that died after 6 months or something...just bad news. And I've owned 14 of the top 50 gadgets!
