Ok - I have a athlon X2 3800+ system, Geforce 7900GS, which gets 4046 in 3dmark 06. What should I set my video settings on. I play at 1280*1024 (i have an LCD, and that is the native resolution).

Initially I set the game at high, with no AA, and it looked like donkey doo - so I changed to Medium with 2XAA and it looked much better - did renderer.drawfps 1 in the console, and it looks like I am getting between 75 and 80 FPS in single player mode right at spawn. Should I try going up to High at 2XAA, or should I go to Medium with 4XAA???

I just want to maximize for best quality/best performance on my current hardware.

What are you guys running at and post your system specs.

thx.

Also - do you HAVE to have the DANG cd in to play BF2? I HATE that!!!

Gotta have the cd in unless you mount it with daeman tools. what may be screwing you up is that you only have 1 Gb of RAM, BF2 likes RAM and 2 Gb is recomended.

I haeve a 3800
7800GT
2 Gb's of RAM

I run everything on high with 4x AA and 4xAF and it runs sweet.

I may be ok at those settings eX - I haven't tried them yet - I tried high w/ nothing to start with and when I turned on the AA, I turned down the quality (don't ask why, my mind just works that way)...

I didn't have much time to fiddle around with it last night - I play around more when I get home this evening.

Thanks for the reply

Spark posted a image on the ftp that you can mount with Daemon tools.

Max there is a CD image on the FTP to resolve your CD in the drive issue, You know what to do.

Im going with Ex, on the Ram deal... BF2 really likes Ram.. Remember when I was having issues getting my sytem to run with the 2gb of of coarsair ram,, Well when I got it going.. it made a big diffrence in smoothing out the game.

One thing I was told about the video settings... set the visibility to 100% so you can see stuff far away.. it helps.

Well, I changed the settings to High at 4XAA and I couldn't tell any diff. in performance so that's where I'll keep 'em.
