ok...so I just got a little curious about how this would work out. So I did a little digging. Here is what i found on the SB commitee page:

TEAMS AND TICKETS

What are the practice sites for the two participating teams?
AFC - Miami Dolphins Training Facility (Nova Southeastern University).
NFC - University of Miami (Coral Gables)

How are game tickets distributed?
The vast majority of Super Bowl tickets (approximately 75%) are distributed to the 32 NFL teams. The participating teams each receive 17.5% of the tickets, the non-participating teams receive 1.2% and the Miami Dolphins, as the host team, will receive 5%. The remaining 25.2% are controlled by the NFL and are distributed primarily to NFL affiliated companies (NFL Properties, NFL Films, NFL Players Association, etc.) the broadcast network, corporate sponsors, media, VIP's charities, fans and the Host Committee.

Are tickets sold to the general public?
The NFL distributes approximately 1% of the tickets to fans through an annual Super Bowl random drawing. The drawing is not considered a lottery (there is no charge to enter). This is the NFL's only method of distributing tickets to the general public.

Requests for the random drawing are accepted between February 1st and June 1st of each year, preceding the game. For Super Bowl XLI the drawing will be in 2006. There are no complimentary tickets available. Click here for more information.

How much are the Super Bowl tickets?
Typically set by NFL owners in early fall, ticket prices for Super Bowl XL were $600 for most seats and $700 for club seats.

Now... The stadium holds 66,000 at MAX. That means that New Orleans will get about 11,500 tickets. The Saints say they do not have a plan in place yet to distrubute these tickets, but there are two major possibilites. #1 The Saints will make the tickets available to the most senior season ticket holders then work their way down the line until they are out. So If you've had season tickets since 1967 you will probably get yours. If you just got them then you can probably hang it up. #2 There will be a weighted lottery. The most senior season ticket holder will get their name in the drawing more than the n00bs. In either case it doesn't look good for a trip to Miami. You can buy tickets right now with a 100% gaurantee but the corner endzone seats we have now are a whopping $2365 a piece! There are also package deals, hotel, food, transportation ect., that start at around $4795 - 14,195 per person. It really does suck to be poor sometimes! :(

jeez... that is absolutely nuts... they should let season ticket holders have first take at the tickets.
