I thought they eventually lost when they were outflanked? But it is a very good example of what you can do against a larger force when you choose your fighint position and defend it well. Could be a good movie.

They did finally loose when they were flanked but while a few did run when flanked the majority of them knowing they were doomed stayed to fight to give the fleaing army a chance. I know the number sounds extreme but the history books do say that it was some where around 100,000 to 300. That's amazing.

Spark and I have been waitin for like 4 months to see this bad boy. Same guy that did sin city (hence the wierd CG backgrounds for the whole film). The greeks did lose, and no one is sure of the exact number, but its about as close as anyone can come to the real deal. And that 7 ft tall jewelry laden bald guy leading the bad guys is Xerxes(sp?) (pronounced ZERK-sees) looks pretty bad ass also. He was the "God-king" That lead the persian empire on their expansive conquest of eastern europe and the mediteraenian coast lines.
I watched a show on the fight coreography and it looks sweet. Lots of team fighting and unit coordination tactics for all us BF2 freaks to enjoy.

Man, my son and I watched the real story on the History channel yesterday about the 300, these dudes make Navy Seals look like p.......! They(Spartans) are trained from the age of 7!!!! to kill, only the ones who lived became the 300. True bad asses!!!

They would have won if the p....... assigned to cover their back hadn't turned turn coat and ran home!!!!!!

Great movie! I enjoyed it much. Now the damn Iranians are offended b/c they think that this movie was made to slander them...lol. They are upset because it portrays the Persians, or modern day Iranians, as evil idol worshiping heathen, who were only interrested in conquest......well.....THAT's WHAT THE HELL THEY WERE!!! And as far as "slandering" goes, I think that they are doing enough of that on their own.

The REAL Spartans WERE NOT bare chested, as described in the review ,but rather their armor was FAR superior to the Persians is why they killed 10,000 in the first days and only lost a few good men!

If you get a chance, watch the History Channels documentary, these dudes were BAD, ONLY tretchery cost them the battle!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE...simply awesome. I mean, that movie was one of those movies that you leave, and you think to yourself, "Yeah...I'm gonna kick his a$$, and his a$$, oh...and his too!" Great music (liked the metal during the fight scenes), great graphics (only 5 minutes of this movie didn't have blood flying through the air), and great story.

Amazing. Will see it again.

That is some **** like I would do. I have told one dumb ass to take his crying infant from a movie (rated R movie mind you) before I slap him in front of his family and personally remove said noise from my viewing enjoyment. The crowd applauded me and the entire family immediately left. I then had to tell a young teen one night that if he didnt hang up his cell phone and turn it off I would poor my entire drink on him and his phone, then kick his arse for wasting all the money I had to spend for the drink. Had the movie been playin, I may well have kicked the beeatch in the chest as well, lmao.
