How can I transfer a DVR recording on to my computer to burn a DVD of it. I have the DirecTV HD250 DVR like you do.

I am pretty sure you have to hack it to enable the output cable inputs...if that makes sense lol...Robby has done it, so he will give ya the 411...I just wanted to type output cable inputs as I read your question. :)

If you hook up a vcr to the vcr out no the dvr, the dvr senses the vcr and will let you record. I assume if you connec tit to the comp's video inputs, then you can do the same. The problem being, do you have a video input (RCA) on your somputer? If not, you can buy a video capture card. Or the easy way out is to use a DVD-R stand alone component. You can forget about hacking the tivo box, it ain't worht it and using the hax after are a pain in the arse to say the least.
