I went to bed at 7:30 last night - and I'm just now getting up at 2:15AM (had the alarm set for 2:30, but had to pee and just decided to stay up).

I'm often just going to bed now, and here I am getting up!...hehehe.

Anyway - y'all have a great friday and wish me luck :)

Well, I JUST walked back in the door - I clocked in at 3:15AM and I clocked out at 12:15AM. I took just 2 30 minute breaks one at 10 and one at 5. I was the only one out of 3 doing it that made it all day on the "Iron Man" shift - I thought my manager was going to tie w/ me, but I found him in the managers office asleep in a sleeping bag at 10:30 (slacker)...we also had one other supervisor type person like me that was supposed to do it, but he clocked out from 8AM until 1PM this afternoon - so I won the Iron Man award (don't know what they are going to give me, prolly a gift card, which is fine, I'll just use it for soda's and snacks at work...:) )

WHEW! Our store kicked some Best Buy booty today though - we were number ONE in our district with $685,775 total revenue for the day...$286,000 was in my 3 departments alone (PC/Home Office, Digital Imaging, and Wireless/PDA/MP3) out store was 275% to our buget for today...and we had really grown our business from last year when we did $422,000 on Black Friday.

For the ACS folks I had the <insert sarcasm here> pleasure of selling Craig Hearon a computer, which was of course fun, and I couldn't get any attachments out of the tightwad...but anyway - I had a blast and the day went by SOOO FREAKING FAST!!!

OK - just drank a beer, and I'm going to bed soon - see y'all in the AM :)

OK - Holy crap, I just figured this junk up...
I was at work 21 hours today, minus my 2 30 min breaks, so that's 20 hours. That means just today I earned $295. When I clocked out tonight, I checked my time, and I was at 39.75hrs so far this week (because I got paid for 8 hours holiday even though we were closed Thursday). That means all day tomorrow from 3:30P-12A will be pure overtime at time and a half, for 8 hours (30 minute lunch subracted), so that will be $177 just for tomorrow...

I'll probably get taxed like HELL on the next paycheck, 'cause I had 40 hours even last week, and we get paid every 2 weeks, so that means the next paycheck will be gross $1357 up from $1180 gross normally...Is that going to push me into another tax bracket (to anyone that knows??? I'm claiming 1 on my W-4's) DOH!

I can't believe I'm still up...I'm tired, but not sleepy...also wound up at the same time - kinda too tired to be sleepy :(

15min to the 24hr mark - good think I don't have to be in until 3:30p tomorrow.
DOH!

Don't worry about the next tax bracket and all that jazz. you're withholdings usually inch up as your gross on your paycheck goes up. It's not drastic, but it's a little. And besides, you're going to stay in the 25% bracket unless your taxable goes over $71,950.

Yep as Dirge said you will just pay more since your gross is more.

care to guess how much came out of my check when I had 163 hours of OT on one check, due to an accounting error from the previous check.

did you know you actually are supposed to work no more than 108 in one week. A company can get into a ton of trouble if you break that law.

Moral: Taxes just s**k. Gov't h4x.

I would say about 8-9K?

And 108 must be a real pain in the arse, because I can tell you, 3 months of 72-84/week is quite a wear. Especially when it's dark on both ends of the day! hax bah pffft

i used to manage a railroad yard in Denver, CO that was open 24/7/365. The big D received 20" in under 24 hrs and I was stuck working until people could get there. Ended up being a 36 hr running shift. I already worked my 4-12's as a manager. Total of 84 hrs in 5.5 days with 25 hrs over the next 1.5 days getting the rail online again. I logged 109 total and received hella taxes, and a phone call from a very disgruntled president of a company. He actually yelled at me for working to much. Something about 285,000 pound machines and lack of good sleep. d4ng3r!!
