has anyone messed with hl2 mods?

i looked into some mods a while back but haven't kept track .is there anything good out there right now?i remember playing this garry's mod or whatever it was called that couldn't keep my interest though.

i actually remembered that post ,but as far as i know none of these are not playable yet .therefor my question if anyone ever got any to run?
