Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type someone's
telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and then you will be
given a map to their house.

Everyone should be aware of this! Note that you can have your phone
number removed or blocked. Before forwarding this, I tested it by typing
my telephone number in google.com. My phone number came up, and when I
clicked on the MapQuest link, it actually mapped out where I live.
Scary.

Please look up your own number. Think about it--if a child, ANYONE gives out his/her phone number, someone can
actually now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety
issues are obvious, and alarming.

MSN has had this feature for a while now. If somebody gives out their phone number they'll be found anyway. Unless you are like alot of college aged kids like me that only have a cell phone. We are safe, at least for the moment, haha.

I'm safe. It doesn't work on Cell phones and I don't have a land line. "They" will never be able to find me. :borg

google has actually had this feature for a good while now, but yet if you dont want to be listed, do a search on your own number, and on the result screen, you can ask to have that entry removed.

That's pretty scary, but it doesn't give you much more information than a phone book could...it just gives that information to you quicker.

And plus...I'm not listed to begin with :)

hey, they have my home # 225-655-2002 listed too. What's up with that? I don't want you fools coming to visit me.
