Ok, I bought a new case and changed everything over....two hard drives, dvd burner, and a cd burner.

I went from a 420 watt Ps to a 350 Watt ps (basically i didn't want to mess with changing all that out).

but the problem is...when I boot up I get an error message:

"CPU is unworkable or has been changed, please check CPU softmenu"

it then gives me the option of 'F1" to continue or 'del' to enter setup....nothing I change in setup seems to help, but when I hit 'F1' it seems to boot up fine???

suggestions??

i have an XP2400 set at '2100 (266)'

Try going into setup and setting the defaults. That should work.

I went in and loaded the 'optimal settings' and it booted up fine, except it ran as an XP1800 @ 1.5 Mghz, I changed it back to 2.00 Mghz for my XP2400 and then I get the same error message...what gives? I didn't have this problem before i switched cases...sigh....

try swaping out the PSU.

Sounds like your mobo doesn't like your CPU.

After you swap out the CPU, try flashing your BIOS.
