Well the fact that a women's body is anything but completly stiff, the dynamic forces affecting her during those rotations would have caused something to move in the slightest way to cause some portion to hit the rim or get hung in the net. Not to mention the launch angle is such that she doesn't have the time to come down as straight as she would have to IF she could actually come down through the hoop.
