Andy:
Here's probably the last two things I recorded before selling my guitar.
This is a pretty stock version of me fingerpicking Blackbird:

And, this is an arrangment I did combining Grandfather's Clock and My Old Kentucky Home:

Enjoy!

Once I figure out how to hold it well enough to play, and record something, I'll post something done w/ the Backpacker...

Wow! I really like Blackbird (then again, I like the Beatles version, too!). Excellent job, Jayson!!!

Jayson, that sounds great. I tried to record with my headset but it sounds horrible. I did 2 of them. I started with one of my favorite to play which is the remake LIMP BISKIT did of the who's behind blue eyes and the second is just a little blues riff I do.

Mine was recorded w/ my Plantronics Headset mic...

Just a matter of getting mic position right - Accoustic Guitars are a little harder to record than one might think - Don't try to aim the mic directly at the sound hole - try to aim for between the soundhole and the fretboard...about 2 feet away.

I remember Andy singing/playing us some songs back in old Thomas Industries...i was actually somewhat inspired to learn the guitar, unfortunately I have absolutely no musical talent :(, so that dream diverted back to a kick-ass air guitarist!!!!

Sabre, everybody has "some" kind of musical talent...

Some are just better left using it to play the Radio :)

Best Buy has some el-cheapo guitars for sale this year, and I have so threatened to go break one of them of some pimpled face teenager who thinks he can play if I hear "Stairway to Heaven" hacked out one more freakin time. There is NO way I could work in a music store...lol.

Jayson there's a part of me that just loves to here that kind of clean picking...

" As you know some of my musical background that may be hard to belive "

I got to say I think its Awsome and I only wish I had the drive to play that well,

BTW... Although I think both tunes are great, I like the second one best...

:)Good Job Man :)

Sounds pretty good Andy!

I'll be sure to bring a guitar (either the backpacker, or a real guitar if I get one by then) if I get to make it to NOLA in Feb...

Here's ya a couple of more I'd uploaded a long time ago - They sound a little rough listening too them now - I hadn't got the knack of recording the accoustic sound down yet for one...

Anyway, these are more just "goofing" not nearly as polished as the first two.

Those are great, do you have any tablature for any of that

I sure don't Andy - If I had you face to face, I could show you the tunes in a way you could learn them.

I've been playing guitar since I was 4 years old (I'm 24 now), and it has always just come more naturally to me than anything else I've tried to do. I can usually hear something, a couple of times, and play it.

I've been playing since about 14 and I'm 30, so almost as long and I've done it all by ear as well. I like to get online and get tab when I hear something I like it shortens the learning curve. I hope we can get to gether and play someday.

I hope so too...
I never could make heads nor tails of TAB.

I CAN read notation, but I'd rather just figure it out. I enjoy it more that way :D
