Not sure what is going on, no matter what I type into my address bar in IE I get directed to some medical health page selling me pills. The only places I can visit are the links in my favorites folder. Just happened within the last day or two. I've restarted my machine, ran adaware, and my antivirus just did I check tonight before I got home from work. Everything seems to be ok except I can't visit any new websites.

Any ideas?

good thing you werent boozin tonite swedish, otherwise you mighta missed something in EC's post, lmao...hahahaha, you booze-hound.

the only thing i could suggest is updating your adware/antivirus... thats the only thing that would mess up your IE... you could possibly uninstall IE and reinstall, but ive never tried that before so i wont tell you to do it.

Ex,

Open IE and click on Tools then Options and check where your homepage is set to. More than likely, it's set to something that you didn't set it to. Chage it to yahoo.com or lamerc.com and then try again. Just an idea.

Sounds like you may have a Browser Hijacker on your system...if so, no matter how much you change your homepage back, it'll keep getting reset -

Do the Spyware checks:
Adaware
Spybot
Spysweeper
CWS Shredder
HijackThis

That should clean you up - google any of those programs to find the installers.

Just BE CAREFUL with HijackThis - if need be, post the log and we'll tell you what to remove. It's easy to remove something important/usefull with that program, but if you DO have a browser hijacker, it may take running that program to get it off.

Here's the freaky thing, everything works again now. I got an email message from my ISP that said I was sending out an unusually large amount of emails and that I had a trojan horse installed on my computer. It said to click the attachment so I could uninstall the trojan horse.

Naturally I didn't click the attachment b/c it was signed the ISP's support team. I've talked to the guy who owns/runs the ISP, it's a small setup, and he would have signed it with his name, not the support team. Monday morning everything worked again fine. I guess my isp got haxed or something.

Just for some more info with my problem, all my favorites still worked and my homepage button worked fine. Only when I typed something into my addressbar.

Kinda werd.
