service pack 2 and you

i installed service pack 2 on a friends computer and it says to reboot... so i did... now with out getting any updates it keeps asking me to reboot the computer ... it has that anoying icon next to your clock that says to reboot your computer because one of the updates is not full unstalled till after reboot... how do i disable/kill/knife/headshot/own that so it doesnt keep asking me to reboot?

Go to the properties of My Computer, Click on the Automatic Updates tab and choose to Turn of Automatic Updates.

Afterwards, you may want to reinstall SP2 and manually load the windowsupdates. Then turn on Automatic Updates again to see if the issue as gone away. Just a quick thought.

I agree w/ mal - I've seen SP2 do this on older installs, and his method is pretty much what I did to get it to act right.
