I think my wife told me I could order one of these. Her comment was "Suuuuuuure, honey. You do 'whatever' you want." I think she's pulling my leg.

Unless you're playing Doom 3 at ultra settings, that extra memory wont do a thing. That card is for rendering apps anyway.

I put my heart, soul and a blow dryer into saving that card, but I'm pretty sure it was the sugar in the busted Mt. Dew in the back of that truck that REALLY ate it up! Sorry Max!!

You would probably get a larger performance boost by going Multi processor and adding additional Ram anyway. I am curious about NVidia's SLI solution to gaming goodness. I think they are comming out with some graphics cards that can be hooked together to give enhanced performance. I'm not sure if it's meant for games or work though. The only difference between gaming cards and work cards is that the work cards have some slight programming extentions to help give a performance boost... and that doesn't even amount to much. But the work cards do cost a good amount more.

From what I've read, the performance boost that you're going to get isn't worth the amount of money that you are going to spend. Like, you'll need a new MoBo, and 2 video cards vs just one. So, you're looking to spend between 800 and 1000 dollars just for a little gain in performance...not worth it to those of us on a budget.

You are right, but it's can be fun to think about. LOL

I remember when the Voodoo cards had SLI. I actually got my hands on one version that had the SLI built into the card so that it was actually 2 video cards occupying the same slot. The card itself was about 11 inches long, so you had to have a some space free in your case to plug it in. It was a damn fast card for it's time though. I imagine this will happen for this version of SLI as well. I bet you if you paste two of those cards together though that thing will be a heat producing little dynamo.
