when i turn on my computer i get a message that says "NTLDR is missing" press CTRL ALT DEL to restart. then when i try to reformat, i get a blue screen right in the middle of it that says call tech support. anyone ahve anyideas on what to do? i dont have ANY money to buy new parts so i dont know what to do.

Do you really want to reformat and reinstall? How are you presently trying to format? Are you starting the computer with the xp cd?

First thing you need to do is go into your bois and set it back to default and then have it redetect your hard drives. Usually, there is an ide drive detection section.

He's trying to say that your harddrive with windows installed is not being detected. Re-plug the IDE and molex connectors on the back of your harddrive if the above doesn't work.

i have to reformat because "ive got viruses like crazy" as my friend says.
ill try to default the bios and see what happens.
and yeah everything is plugged in nice and tight.

Thanks toby!! i defualted the bios and everything works fine now. if you werent a guy id kiss you, ive been trying to figure out what was wrong all week.
