I was raised in a po-dunk town of Carrollton, Kentucky. Joined the Navy and lived in San Diego, CA for 1 year, then lived in Norfolk, Virginia for 4 years. Got out of the Navy and lived in Binghamton, New York.

Currently living in Monroe, Louisiana - have lived there for 10 years.

I was born in San Bernardino, California. When I was two, my father was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He retired from the AF after 36 years of service when I was three years old and moved us to his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. At 17 years of age, I went to Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and ended up moving back to Mobile afterward. I lived there until just last year when I moved to College Station, Texas. I hate moving - I hate change. Curmudgeon, signing off.

Earlville, Cecilton, Warwick, Chesapeake City, Elkton, back to Cecilton. Lived in Earlville when I was too young to remember, Cecilton until I was 11, then to Warwick. Had a kid and moved to an apartment in Chesapeake City for a year, Elkton to 2 and a half years. Now I'm back in good ole Cecilton for 2 years and running. Don't plan on moving anytime soon. All of those places are within 20 miles of each other and in Maryland on the Eastern Shore.

Stayed in Manning until I was 17, and we lived briefly in the Charlotte, NC Suburbs for about 9 mo, and moved back to Manning until 1999, when I was 19, and we moved back to Florence. Off and on I contemplate a move to the Raleigh, NC are where I have friends, but I don't know if I ever will...just keep saying I am :)

Lived there for about 5 years. Moved to Greenbrier, AR lived there from 3rd grade untill I graduated High School. Moved to Sellersburg, IN and attended tech school in Louisville, Ky lived there for about 3 years. Got a job and they moved me to Danville, IL for about 3 months, then they moved me to South Bend, IN lived there for 3 years. Quit company moved back to Greenbrier, AR to be closer to family, lived there for about 1 year and then new company moved me to Hope, AR met my wife there, company moved me to Searcy, AR got married, needed more money, so quit that company went back to work for orginal company and moved to Shreveport, LA. Have been here now for 8 years don't look like I'm moveing for awhile since I have a house and 2 kids now.. Jeesh looking back that seems like allot of moveing guess it was.

Well, I dunno about $32K to start off with - you'd have to work your way up within a company most likely - Florence and Monroe are VERY similar towns - monroe seems a bit bigger b/c it's touching West Monroe - Florence has Darlington, but there is a bit of space between the two on HWY 52, but the gap is slowly closing!

Anyway - the "Urbanized Area" (defined as contiguous area with more than 2,000 people per square mile) according to the 2000 Census is approx 72,000, the Metro Statistical Area (Florence and Darlington Counties) is at approx 200,000, the "Florence-Myrtle Beach" Metro Area (Florence, Horry, Darlington and Marion Counties) is about 500,000, however Florence, City Proper is only 30,000, but that is due to the backwards Annex Laws in SC, and because of that the City Limits really haven't been changed since 1952, exepct for an acre or two here and there, and as a result, MOST of "Florence" is unincorperated area. Everything here is really "Florence-Myrtle Beach" as far as TV stations and stuff are concerned...

As far as sports, we have the Florence Pride Hockey team http://www.peedeepride.com/ that is part of the ECHL - kind of a AAA team to relate it to Baseball. For Baseball, we have the Florence Red Wolves which is a A team, and Myrtle Beach has the Pelicans which are a A team as well, but in different division. There is supposed to be a "Minor League" Basketball team coming to Florence Next year, but I don't know what the team name is going to be - and Myrtle Beach has a Minor League Soccer Team - but I don't know what the name of it is.

We get a fair number of concerts come through each year at the Florence Civic Centre which I think seats about 15,000 in the main arena (also where the Hockey Team Plays).

As far as TV, we have CBS, ABC, FOX, UPN and ETV locally and get NBC out of Columbia still, but there is a rumor of a NBC Affiliate coming to Florence-Myrtle Beach as well.

It's about an hours drive to the beach, depending how which way you go, and how bad traffic is. We have 2 decent malls, one REALLY big strip mall, which is practically in the same parking lot as one of the enclosed malls that has a Target and Goody's as the "anchor stores" and many smaller "strip malls" around town. We have a 12 screen movie house and a 4 screen movie house (had a 2 more 3 screens that shut down when the 12 screen opened...)

5. Then moved to Gretna LA (3 years)
6. Then moved to Colfax LA (Where parnets were born and raised and stayed there almost 4 years through High School)
7. Graduated and moved to Ruston LA to attend LA Tech - 5 years getting BSME)
8. Then got my first job in Monroe LA and stayed for 7 years.
9. Finally I just moved to Daphne AL other side of Mobile for my second job. I will not even consider moving for less than $72K a year plus a great moving package and all the fringe benefits of large corporations, 401K, profir sharing, Gain sharing, dental, medical. etc etc etc. Scratch that wife is making a ton too so we're here for a pretty long time unless Dirge and Diesel get me a job with BellSouth. I can take a pay cut to live there, (hint hint Robby I will work for less (currently in the upper 60's) to move closer to New Orleans. Sweet Shadow tiger is moving to Mandeville, thats less than 1 and 45 from here, I smell trouble a brewing.
