anyone else experience major lag? I haven't played much over the past month or so but I tried to get on tonight and i couldn't even understand what people were saying....cause of the severe and constant lag. the only thing i've changed is that dang XP service pack 2, and I also re-installed my Norton Anti-virus, but I've used Norton in the past with no problems...

any ideas? I don't get many opportunities to play anymore but when I get a chance, it's frustrating that this stuff happens.

thanks in advance.

oh, my rate is now 9999, I've tried 12000 with no change. My fps max is 100.

probably service pack 2...it has been causing some problems...as to why the lag? dunno on that one...have seen it disable nics and slow stuff down...try turning the firewall off and see if that helps

I have noticed no problems with SP2 running CS.

Optimus, is that an option in hte control panel or is it a group of services? i.e.:
gay option. . . . . . . . started. . . . . . . . . .automatic
gay firewall. . . . . . . .started. . . . . . . . . .automatic

well, the map I was 'trying' to play was Nuke.....I turned my Norton off and re-connected but the map had changed to assault. So it was either that map, or my antivirus is causing me problems, I played several other maps with no problems.

I have been having problems too. I'm running an All-in-wonder 9800 pro, and before SP2 I kept a steady 75fps with everything on (console command net_graph 3). After the SP2 I would be doing fine and my fps would drop into the low 20's (that's when I started lagging) When I went to AIT I had to download new drivers for it. Try that, it worked for me.
