Don't know who made it, but I'm about to take it apart. That's a DVD case next to it so you can realize the size...

I still have 78 RPM records made from clay instead of vinyl :) For example, I have an original 1938 Moonlight Serenade by Glen Miller with Sunrise Serenade on the flipside...actually - i think Moonlight Serenade was the official "flipside" but it wound up becoming his most famous tune and his theme song... :D Not ot mention several Benny Goodman and Harry James albums when albums were books like photo albums with about 8 78 RPM records rather than a single LP 33 1/3 record or even cassettes or CD's!

Has anyone ever taken the magnets from an old hard drive. Some of them are super strong. I have two that use to hold thing up. Its very hard to pull them off if they stick on the long flat side.

I've got some magnets like that, Uther, but they're to turn pacemakers off during surgery.

WTH, is that a turbo-booster on the side, or what? I think the wheels on my truck are smaller that that thing.

The thing on the side is the motor that controls the read/write heads. That came out as one piece. I'll post a pic of that tonight. I've gotten it all the way down to the platters, but I can't get the platters out of the actual chassis for some reason. IBM hax.

Here's the pic of the read/write head with motor still attached
