What is your opinion. Is onboard sound good enough or will I be able to tell the difference with a sound card?

If so which one should I look at.

Depends on which onboard sound you have!

Yeah, I would get a soundcard. You want to look for something that has digital output (assuming, of course you will eventually upgrade to digital speakers or headset). Actually, right now I have th eplantronics headset (mic built in) that is strictly USB. It hooks up to your USB port and acts as a soundcard with full digital audio. It's pretty nice and is about the same price as a good soundcard and headset. Just an idea. If you didn't want to go that way, look at Creative Live! or something. Stay away from Audigy...you pay more for little to no increase in performance.

Thanks for the info Tech.

I just purchased a set of plantronics headphones (Audio 90 analog headset) and now I'm wondering if I should have got the ones you are talking about. Can you really tell the difference with the digital headphones? If so I may have to give these to Heater and get the digital ones. lol
