i took a screen of my desktop but it says its too large too send in emails and to post on the forums? how do i make it a smaller file?

Paint shop pro my friend, or any photo editing program, theres usualy a resizing program.

If you have Windows XP, download the Image Resizer power toy from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Check out the others as well, especially the alt-tab replacement and TweakUI.

depending on the dimensions of the picture, you might just be able to save it as an optimized graphic, which usually means a lower resolution. You need to have a photo editing program like paint shop pro or adobe photoshop. Its usually one of the save options... goodluck

Or, you can just buy a smaller monitor. Smaller monitor means smaller screenshots.
