You know, if God had wanted me to fly, He would have given me wings. Wait a minute, geese do have wings! BUT THIS GUY DIDN'T! HOLY CRAP THAT LOOKED PAINFUL!

Wow...I read that on Yahoo the other day but didn't realise how close to the ground he was! He was going to drill a hole no matter what. I really don't see how that can be written up as pilot error (as the article I read said). He did his (what looks to me, anyway) split S and wasn't getting any lift at the end of it.

Spark, how can this be construed as pilot error?

well first off it's almost ALWAYS pilot error...no matter what.... there are some rumors floating arround, but I'm not sure anyone knows exactly what he did wrong..... Tech alum in the airforce say that minimums were busted... whatever that really means... probably altitude....

Yeah, minimum safe altitude probably...then again, I thought they ALWAYS worked at those levels! lol

Only thing I can think of, pilot didn't pull back on stick enough, or he pulled back too much. Either one will either cause a stall or not get enough lift. Then again, the nose never really pointed above 10 degrees or so...so who knows.
